Hello and welcome to the Fulfilled Women. My name is Viviene and I’m a Motivational Speaker and a Certified Life Purpose Coach.

Today I want to talk about the #1 trap of first time entrepreneurs. I’m seeing this again and again to many business owners. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur, this is something to keep in mind. If you are already running your business, watch out that you don’t fall into this trap.

The main reason people pursue entrepreneurship is because they want time freedom.

Many who take this path quickly realize that when you are starting a business however, you work hard. At least in the beginning. Now that’s a fact. As your business grows however, your involvement in the business should become less and less. In other words, you work less and focus more on how you can scale your business.

This is where many business owners fall into the habit of not delegating.

The more the business grows, the more things you do for it. Wrong. A real business is the other way around. If you are in business for 5 to 7 years and you still do everything. You can’t even have a vacation for 5 days without thinking of who will do this and that, then my friend, I hate to break it to you but you do not have a business. You are self employed!

The difference between self employed and being a business owner is this. If you are a business owner, you can go on a mission trip to Africa for 1 month and come back to a running and profitable business. If you are self employed, you can’t even visit a friend in the hospital for 2 hours because that means you’d have to close down your business thus not make any sale.

Here’s my question.
If you are already running your business, what are tasks in your business process that you can delegate?
If you are just about to start a business, at what point in your business model can you take a vacation for 5 days and come back to a running and profitable business?
