Since I was a little girl, I would sneak some of my Dad’s Self Help books and read them in my room. I have learned from the very beginning that mindset has a lot to do with success. In fact 80% of success is mindset and only 20% is strategy. You can have the right tools and strategy but if you don’t have the right mindset, your success will not last very long.

Here are ways you can program your mind for success:

1.Read books that empower. Reading is a habit all successful people do. Whatever phase you are in your business or career, learning never stops. When you read inspiring stories of people who have overcome, it gives you that “I can do that too” mindset. You won’t easily be shaken. As I said earlier, you can have the right tools but if you have bad mindset, you are setting yourself up for failure in the long run. Strengthen your mindset by reading books to inspire and strengthen your belief in yourself.

2. Spend time with positive, supportive and successful people. It is hard enough to reach a goal. It makes it even harder to do it alone. So, don’t. Find a support group. Find people who will believe in your vision. Not everyone will so you have to go out there and find them. Find people who will believe you can. Spend time with them and learn from them. Imagine at work when you belong to a team where complaints dominate your conversations. What happens? Nothing. Nothing gets done. But what if you belong to a team who believes your team goal may be radical but still think it’s possible. What happens? You actually achieve it. So which team do you want to hang out with?

3. Thank God for a new day. It is very easy to succumb to defeat and hopelessness. But every morning, remind yourself that God gave you a new day. And how you spend it? It is up to you. Live your life thanking God not only for the good things but also for the challenging times.
